QA Technician (12 hour continuous shift) (6 month Fixed Term Contract)
We currently have a vacancy for a QA Technician following a 12 hour continuous shift pattern.
This position is open to internal and external applicants.
Reporting to the QA Manager the role involves assisting the Manufacturing team to reach their quality targets by providing quality guidance, support and continuity of product release on a shift basis.
In line with training and applicable procedures, conduct all duties in a way that promotes WIL’s values & best practice standards relating to health, safety, environmental & quality performance.
Maintain high levels of laboratory housekeeping and follow good laboratory practices
Monitor the production process and product quality in partnership with the manufacturing team, liaising with process operators, team leaders and laboratory technicians to release, segregate and disposition spun and finished products in accordance with quality management system requirements.
Quality grading and release of product.
Providing cover by conducting in process testing and timely liaison with production teams to maintain on target control.
Produce shift quality reports and monitor in-process records to ensure product traceability requirements are met.
Assist with product development activities including development of new or additional tests to guarantee conformance with customer specifications and related quality, manufacturing or technical requirements.
Assist in the effective management of measurement and testing equipment including commissioning of new equipment as required.
Assist with quality incident and customer complaint investigation including root cause analysis to produce corrective action plans
Control and operation of the Waste Water Treatment Plant and associated IPC license requirements.
Participate in audits, training and other initiatives including the company’s Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.
There may be additional duties, projects, assigned from time to time as requested.
Individuals applying must have a relevant third level qualification in Quality or related discipline with a minimum of three years relevant experience within a QA environment.
Certified Yellow belt six sigma is desirable.
The individual must be willing to train immediately on joining the company.
The above position is best suited to individuals who are highly organised and can work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines. Attention to detail is extremely important.
They should be capable of working individually and as part of a team, be a good communicator and present a positive image of the company to external contacts.
A good working knowledge of computerised packages is essential.
Familiarity with Ppk and Cpk measurement is desirable but not essential.
