IVEX CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT LEADER – MULLAGH BASED

We currently have a vacancy at our plant in Mullagh for an IVEX (Indorama Ventures Excellence Vertical) Continuous Improvement Leader.

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing this position will support the Site Manufacturing Team (MSC Production, R&D/QA) in continuous improvement implementation and will serve as the single point of contact to deploy the IVEX culture throughout the site.

He/she will have involvement in developing process analysis and re-engineering to improve efficiency, lower costs and improve product quality by promoting the use of lean principles and tools to achieve business goals.

Specific Duties

  • Develop process improvement systems to improve operational efficiency
  • Analyse current process standards and metrics in order to provide solutions for improvement
  • Partner with site leaders and IVEX site champions within vertical/region to maintain site-level deployment metrics and Lean site full-potential assessment schedules. May coordinate/identify leaders that can assist with deployment audits outside of vertical/region and in support of a separate vertical/region
  • Support site IVEX champions on-site with full potential strategies and with Gemba-walk mentoring
  • Manage strategic approach to site gaps in individual IVEX deployment plans
  • Assist with 6S and Lean Six Sigma projects involving members of MSC, R&D, Quality, Maintenance and Manufacturing
  • Promote lean manufacturing practices by educating the organisation in the use of lean principles. This will involve the rollout of various SS initiatives onsite
  • Mentoring participants and following through on the successful implementation of projects at all levels
  • Work with the team to recommend appropriate changes in process/approach
  • Own IVEX best-practice tracking plan and routine follow-up of projects
  • Update and maintain documentation on process improvements and process performance
  • Be the IVEX point of contact for the Mullagh site with regards to information transmissions between the IVEX Business Expert and the sites under their purview. This includes requests for KPIs, requests for site information, and requests for status updates for specific items (open actions, best practices sharing, etc.) The role will roll up site data/responses from the entire business and submit them to corporate
  • Receive training and mentoring from IVEX corporate experts and/or IVEX Business experts to implement new strategic VSA projects where applicable


    • There may be additional duties, projects, assignments from time to time as requested

The Person

The above position is best suited to individuals who are highly organised with strong attention to detail. The person appointed must be capable to adapt to changing demands.
Strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills.
Able to employ key programs and metrics into operation seamlessly for success.
The position requires personal initiative and the desire to succeed.
That applying must be educated to Green Belt Six Sigma standard and have 3+ years experience using LSS methodologies. Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and familiarity with quality management systems.
Good communication (written and verbal) along with excellent influencing skills are beneficial as the candidate is expected to operate in a team environment across functional areas on-site and in liaison with international contacts and other external stakeholders.
Working with the teams to identify problems and assist with corrective actions where necessary and project follow-through is a key aspect of the person’s responsibility.
Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.
Strong executive presentation skills.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Technical or Manufacturing.
Attention to detail and computer literacy is very important.
