We currently have an excellent opportunity within the company for an IT Infrastructure Manager .

The position will report to the Operations Director here onsite.

The person appointed will plan, manage and control Wellman International’s Information Technology infrastructure, support systems infrastructure requirements in line with the Business plan to improve efficiency, communications and decision making, provide a strategic advantage and increase productivity.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with senior management regarding meeting the objectives of the company’s Business.  Plan insofar as they relate to IT Strategy.
  • Design/Selection, development, and implementation of IT Infrastructure to assure infrastructure capacity attains current and future needs at all 4 WIL sites in Ireland, France, and the Netherlands.
  • Ensure apt security levels on network, infrastructure and servers are maintained
  • Provision of effective maintenance and support of optimum operating environment for WIL’s systems
  • Management and support of WIL’s IT/OT infrastructure, including networks.
  • Management and support of WIL’s communications systems, voice and data.
  • Mobile Device Management of handheld devices.
  • Provision and management of all IT related 3rd party services and agreements.
  • Define and manage IT Disaster Recovery Strategy for organization.
  • Analysing current risks and identifying potential risks that could affect WIL’s IT infrastructure.
  • Work closely with IVL Corporate IT to support corporate programs and implementation of corporate requirements & guidance.
  • Management and monitoring of all IT-related Company Policies and Procedures.
  • This position also acts as Privacy Officer for Wellman International Ltd and supports Senior management in relation to GDPR requirements.
  • In line with training and applicable procedures, conduct all duties in a way that promotes WIL’s values, & best practice standards relating to health, safety, environmental & quality performance.


The Person:

The individual appointed must have a relevant professional qualification with at least 3 to 5 years experience in managing a busy IT department in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

He / She must have experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of Virtualisation technologies, Windows Active Directory, Office 365, Windows server & clients.
  • LAN/WAN management and administration (e.g. switches, firewalls etc) and knowledge of cyber security best practices.


The individual appointed must have the capability to manage several major IT projects including vendor management simultaneously while being able to adapt to changing demands.

The individual must be self-driven, a hands-on individual with an analytical mindset.

Good problem solving /troubleshooting skills coupled with excellent communication skills required.

Previous experience in the role of Privacy Officer is an advantage however full training and support will be provided.

While travel will be limited with this role there may be a requirement to travel to other IVL companies and equipment suppliers from time to time.
