Anti-microbial and thermal bonding fibres from
Wellman International Limited at Techtextil.
The success of WellmanHealthGuard, a unique and revolutionary polyester filling fibre with anti-microbial and anti-dustmite properties from premier European supplier Wellman International Limited, has prompted the company to introduce the technology to the technical nonwovens sector.
Initially the new fibre was launched into the bedding sector last year, however as anti-microbial protection is also an important requirement for technical nonwovens, Wellman now offers the ‘HealthGuard’ protection technology across its complete range of polyester staple fibres.
Long lasting protection inhibiting bacterial growth is provided using a proven, durable and fully safety tested technology which combined with the many different profiles, cut lengths and Decitex options that comprise Wellman’s product range, offers customers a huge choice.
The Company will also feature Fillwell® Wellbond its industry proven Hi – Melt and Low Melt Bi-component technologies. Multiple applications within the technical textile market are key features of these fibres. When blended with Wellman’s other high quality polyester staple fibres, the result is an industry leading product that offers excellent bulk, long lasting resilience and proven moulding and acoustic properties.
