Wellman International Ltd acquired by Indorama Ventures Dec 2011
Nov 30, 2011 Bangkok, Thailand - 30 November 2011 - Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL), the world's leading vertically integrated Polyester Value Chain producer, today closed the deal to acquire Wellman International's recycling business in Europe from AURELIUS AG. Wellman International is Europe's largest recycler of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles as well as a leading European producer of polyester staple fiber products and rPET.
The deal, which was first announced in September 2011, will assist IVL in pursuing its customers' sustainability needs and meet the demands of consumers for more recycling of post consumer products.

Wellman International wins Green Awards 2011 May 2011
April of this year saw Wellman become the recipient of the ‘Waste to Business Resource’ Green Award. The purpose of the Green Awards is to recognise excellence in sustainability and to encourage best practice at organisation and individual level. Our entry involved outlining our ‘flake to fibre’ process and was supported by an independent ‘Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)’ study which strongly validates our process and our fibre.
